Since opening its doors in 2007, Trinity Catholic Academy carries on the rich legacy of Catholic elementary education in the greater Brockton community. The first school of the Archdiocese of Boston’s 2010 Initiative for Catholic Education, a school revitalization effort led by Jack Connors, Jr., Trinity Catholic led the charge of systematic reform in Greater Boston.

Trinity is the result of a merger of the Catholic elementary schools of Brockton’s St. Edward, St. Casimir, and Sacred Heart Parishes, which have histories dating back to the late 1800s and where thousands of children received their early educations. In 2007 the schools - confronted by declining enrollment, deteriorating buildings, and mounting financial challenges - merged and re-opened as Trinity Catholic Academy.

It took many dedicated people to bring Trinity Catholic from vision to reality. With support from the philanthropic community for capital and school launch costs, the former St. Edward and St. Colman school facilities were renovated into our two campuses, the Lower Campus at St. Edith Stein Parish (formerly St. Edward’s) for preschool through Grade 3 and the Upper Campus at Christ the King Parish (formerly St. Colman’s) for Grades 4 through 8.

A Board of Trustees was organized with a wide range of expertise, and with a lay administrative team equipped with solid education and operation experience, they implemented plans to launch a sustainable school model focused on exceptional academics. Trinity Catholic Academy opened to 472 students in September 2007 and since then has enriched the lives of 3,500 students with a solid academic, social, and faith-filled educational foundation.

Cardinal O'Malley

"Today we celebrate a new beginning for Catholic education in Brockton. Catholic education is a very important ministry in the life of the Church…[it gives] a spiritual formation to our young people, to mentor them in faith as well as prepare them to be good and productive members of society."
